Over the years, globalization has acted as the main tool for change locally and internationally. As indicated earlier, the airline industry has a rich history of major struggles to the current blossoming connotation. Deregulation being the initial stage, vast development is necessary to make the industry a factor of support to globalization (Drucker, 1999, pp. 74-75). The success of the industry therefore lies in the development of technology that will enhance greater comfort for the travellers. Through modern technology, better and efficient carriers will reduce the overall cost of air travel operations.
Besides, global peace and harmony between the people and international community will assist in ensuring confidence to the travellers. The September 11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade centre in New York was a major blow to the industry. Of greater importance, is the full deregulation of the industry to allow free movement of goods and people between the major cities all over the world (Rodrigue, 2008, PP. 54-56) . Globalization is the single most influential factor for growth and development of businesses and economies in the 21st century.
This has been evident in the airline industry that has flourished due to forces of globalization. Since the era of regulation, the industry has metamorphosed to become an element of globalization without which movement of human resources would be very complicated. US Airways as indicated in the paper acts as a direct example of the change demanded on a global scale. It is through international cooperation between airlines, countries and states that global partnership has emerged as a major platform upon which the future development of other sectors relies on.
However, it is important that the remaining regulations are fully addressed to ensure that the industry operates under full forces of the market. To add to that, the airlines should ensure that their security systems are of the highest possible order to get the much needed consumer confidence (Transportation Research Board, 2008, pp. 15-18). Finally, the overall consideration of customer satisfaction should be the main agenda at all times since consumers are the masters.
